WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

A little preparation goes a long way. Here’s what you need to know to arrive ready to ride, walk, and rally. We’ll share an official event guide as event day approaches, so check back for the latest information.

Do I need to be an experienced cyclist?

Not at all. Ride For Your Life is a community event, not a race. We’ll travel together at a steady, relaxed pace, with support along the route. Whether you ride regularly or are getting back on your bike for the first time in a while, you’re welcome here.

    Are there support vehicles?

Yes. Along with a police escort, we will have both a lead vehicle and a SAG vehicle. The SAG vehicle will be able to stop and support participants with any issues. Our trained volunteer Ride Marshals will also be along the route to provide support and help participants navigate the ride safely.

Can I walk instead of ride?

Absolutely. The Walk offers another way to be part of the movement. You’ll still join the community, take part in the rally, and have opportunities to connect with advocates and take action.

    Can kids participate?

Yes! All kids must be accompanied by an adult. We also have unique volunteer opportunities geared towards kids which offer service learning credit.

    Where do I check in?

Check-in will be located at Boston Common and will be available starting at 10am. Look for signage when you arrive. All participants must be registered and have signed a waiver.

    What happens if it rains?

Ride For Your Life is an outdoor event, so come prepared for the weather. We'll be out there rain or shine, except for in extreme conditions. Should the weather outlook look severe, we will communicate any updates to our plans.

    Will there be restrooms?

Yes. Portable restrooms will be available at John Marshall Park.

    Can I volunteer?

Yes! There are lots of ways to help make Ride For Your Life happen—from welcoming participants and supporting the route to helping with the rally and advocacy activities.
