WHEN YOU SHOW UP, CHANGE HAPPENS

This year’s advocacy derives from the deaths of two Wisconsin natives, Sasha Rosen and Sarah Debbink Langenkamp.

WISCONSIN

At the state-level, we are asking for support of Sasha’s Bill (AB 655 / SB 659) in the Wisconsin Legislature, which would allow judges to require those found guilty of reckless driving and repeated or extreme speeding to use GPS-enabled intelligent speed devices in their cars. This bill pays tribute to Sasha Rosen, a goofy, music-loving, espresso-drinking senior at West High School in Madison, who was senselessly killed on Feb. 5, 2026, by a speeding driver.

NATIONWIDE

At the national level, we will urge passage of the Sarah Debbink Langenkamp Active Transportation Safety Act (HR 2011/S 944), a bipartisan bill in the U.S. Congress which would give states more flexibility in using federal transportation funds in building safe biking and walking infrastructure. A Wisconsin native, Sarah Langenkamp was killed in 2022 riding her bike home from her children’s elementary school outside Washington, D.C. Her death inspired the Ride for Your Life movement.
